Mandrake 9.1 and Bettery Stat on a Evo 1020
 

Hi

I tried Red Hat 9 and now I tried Mandrake 9.1 which should have better acpi support. But with non of this distribs I got a battery stat.

With Mandrake I have acpi on in lilo and I have installed the rpm acpi and acpid but in the service view I always see that this two are stopped. If I try to start acpid manuall I got the message that /proc/acpi/event isn't there.

Is there a document or something like that what to do to get the battery stat whit one of this two distribs?

I'm new with linux so I don't know what I can do. But without Battery stat I don't think I can go with linux.

I ran into the same problem. I went and downloaded akpi from here:

akpi and download the rpm for Mandrake 9.1.

I went to the Boot section of the Mandrake Control Center and Clicked on DrakBoot and then chose Lilo/Grub mode and clicked on the configure button. I then put a check mark in Enable ACPI and clicked OK.

I then went to System --> DrakServices and ensure that acpi and acpid where checked and apmd didn't have a check.

Then I hit the Menu key, clicked on run and entered akpi, voila battery monitor in the system tray.
