mandrake 10.1 on laptop error code Bad EIP
Hi everyone, having finally installed Mandrake 10.1 in dual boot on an Optima Centoris 30Gb laptop I was estatic! ...until I recieved the following "Code Bad EIP value Warning...fsck.ext3 for device /dev/hda5 exited with signal 11". The (re) install was repeated with the same results. Can someone please tell me how to rectify this?. It's taken me months to find a simple partitioning tool to accomplish this, the one which came with the installation CD was sooo easy, congrats to whoever put it together, all distros should include this as a standard for us newbies . Post script: I gave up in the end and installed Ubuntu, thanks Micheal for the reply ...now I can't get Totem to play DVD's!

Bad EIP value.... Fsck.ext3 problem
I am also having the same problem post installation of Mandriva 2005 Limited edition on a NEO Q-NOTE laptop I just purchased. Maybe someone can help me with this.
After installation: The bootmanager does not proceed to KDE GUI interface. At command prompt, Mandriva displays BAD EIP VALUE Warning... fsck.ext3 for device /dev/hda5 exited with signal 11 |
