I ma planning to purchase one LT.

I would to like to get your help regarding this matter.

Did i go more MAC G4 or and i86 machines.

As i herd that linux work more faster on MAC G4 than on i86.

Also help me to find out wich inch screen i have to purchase.

12 , 15 or 17. I am and home user. I going to have LT for general purpose no programming and no garphics, Only of Word processing and Multimedia.

I went shopping for a laptop last Christmas. I refuse to buy a computer with Windows installed so I was soon looking at Macs. I thoroughly inspected the Macs that MicroCenter had on display and I accidently found one that had been left in supervisor mode. I did a non destructive exploration of the entire Mac kernel and it is BSD. I also test drove the demo Macs that were logged in as user mode. I used the Mac laptops long enough that I got comfortable using the touchpad and the hand motions became semi-automatic. The GUI was the best that I have ever seen. I ended up not buying any laptop because of the price.

I came to the conclusion that if money were no object that I would buy a Mac laptop and run OS X. My sister then bought a new laptop and gave me her old DELL which I promptly converted to Fedora.

There is no reason to switch a Mac from OS X to Linux. BSD and Linux are similar kernels. The Mac GUI is superior to KDE, Gnome, or Windows. It is problematic whether you would gain anything by switching from OS X to Linux and it is not worth the hassle unless you want to do it as a learning experience.

The think that the demos I tried were 17" and they were very impressive. Which you choose is a matter of what you are willing to pay for.

I personally like the 12 inch ones for their protability.

Given the reasons to use OSX, I'd suggest you buy a big hard drive an dual-boot.
