m5310 wireless card help, does not seem to recognize the card
hello
i have decided to try linux on another hard drive that i had laying around. i installed mandrake 10.1 i was able to get the lan connection to work immediatly. but it does not recognize the wireless card. my laptop is an emachines m5310 laptop. i am not sure about the model of the card that is in the laptop. thanks for the help edit in the hardware thing in the control center it seems to recognize the card. it seems to only need drivers |

well i found the linuxaunt thing and it sort of works, well at least for the next 30 days, they want $20 for a license to even get the drivers to work permanently

yahoo group
Well, at least that link also mentions that there was yahoo group specfically geared toward your laptop. The linuxaunt solution was posted by this guy over a year ago. Perhaps other drivers have been found to be compatible since then, and this yahoo group might know more about it.

i am in the process of searching the yahoo message group for information about the drivers

Broadcom cards will work with ndiswrapper.
2nd Google hit for that chipset was the LQ HCL: http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/sh...hp?product=810 |
