lost browser upgrading to OZ 3.3.5

I ran the scripts from killefiz.de to make ipkg files from the handcom apps and the Opera browser on my old sharp rom. I transferred these ipkgs files to the Z after upgrading to OpenZaurus 3.3.5. They claim to install o.k. but the handcom apps fail when launched and the Opera browser is non-existent. Worse yet, although I have a great wireless connection to the Internet, the konquerer browser that they said ships with OZ isn't there either. What gives?

Am I doomed to re-install the sharp rom to try this again or is there another way to get these apps back?
