Liyitec USB touchscreen

I have a tablet PC with a Liyitec USB touchscreen. I'm having a heck of a time getting it to work. I'm using Red Hat Linux and have upgraded the kernel to version 2.6.14. The system is using XFree86 4.5. At first I tried every touchscreen driver I could find but I got no reponse from any of them. Finally, I modified the touchkitusb driver in the kernel and now the kernel detects the device and loads the driver. I am using the evtouch driver for X-Windows. The cursor basically follows my finger on the screen but it flickers and jumps around a lot. It also does not detect taps properly. Has anyone had any luck getting this kind of touch screen working?
