Linux running slow when laptop on battery powermizer issue

I installed Compiz fusion which works great.

However on battery linux lags really bad. I looked into more and it is clocking my GPU down to perfomence level 0 (0-3) at 100mhz. Its an issue with powermizer and I can't seem to disable powermizer either.

Does anyone know how I can fix it as its unusable with the graphics card clocked down that low.

Thanks

Yep, go into powermanager, and set the current power management scheme to be 'performance' rather than 'powersave'.

Of course, the more horsepower you use, the quicker your battery will drain....

Errr, no, I think HellBound is referring to NVIDIAs "powermizer", not "Power Manager".

How to disable powermizer, and run at maximum performance all the time is here:

Ahh...good catch. That didn't occur to me, tredegar. I limp by on my laptop's Intel graphics.

Great thanks for the link.

I found another way to fix it and kick powermizer into the highest setting.

If i click the compiz fusion icon and start the icon in the system try it will switch powermizer up to the highest setting permanently.

If that stops working then I will try what was in your link. I didn't want to mess with anything to much if I don't have to.

Thanks again.
