LINUX on TABLET PC (a different question)
Hi
I am a total newbie to linux - just installed Ubuntu on my dad's gateway desktop and works great! I have a gateway tablet pc running windows tablet version I was wondering if anyone know if linux would work on tablets? I know someone posted a similar question but it was too in depth for me. Which linux should I install on tablet pc? Is there special software to work with it (handwriting)? Will it work? Please help me out. I am really starting to love Linux but am not sure if it will work on tablets. Mike |
Probably the best way to find out if linux will work on your tablet is to boot it to a live cd and test it out. That way, you can try a number of different distros, and see which one has the best support for your hardware. Also the Hardware Compatability List (HCL) on this site might be worth checking out. As far as a distro, if you ask ten different people they are likely to give you twelve answers. Personally, I've had a very good experience with hardware recognition on my Acer laptop running the Ubuntu desktop, so feel free to check that one out. I hope this helped.

What's your tablet PC version? I have a Gateway M280e and tried installing SUSE 10.1 on it. All worked, with the exception of the actual tablet PC version.
I wonder if there's a handwriting recognition tool out there? |
