Linux on Dell Latitude CPxJ

Suspend Mode does not work right in linux on my laptop.
Half of the time when I go into suspend mode and then try to recover it, gives me a blank screen.
The display is on because the lights come on, but the screen stays black.

Specs:

Dell Latitude CPxJ
Mandrake 9.1

As linux tells most users several times. ACPI features like Suspend, hibernate, resume, are still buggy and may or may not work.

If something is slightly broken, stop using it before you break it the rest of the way.
