It is the first time that i install a linux system so i'm a beginner but i really would like to install it on my Laptop, so please help me ? did someone had already install it on a laptop compaq presario series 2100 ?? I don't know what i should do ?? PLEASE HELP ME !!! thanks in advance !!! regards !! |
I have an HP laptop with the same issue. It seems HP/Compaq cheaped out with the PCMCIA adapter for the AMD based laptops. The Intel based ones run Linux fine.
If you do the install without PCMCIA support it will work great. |
But How ??
Thanks for your quick reply !!
But how can i delete or install it without PCMCIA Support ?? Thanks |

linux on compaq presario 2100
hello,
I have a 2100, I first installed Mandrake 9.2, but no matter what i did it would not recognise my pcmcia wifi card, even though i was compiling the drivers/modules using the kernel source. so i switched to suse 9.0 and i have no issues. actually i had been a mandrake user for long, until i got this laptop and installed suse on it. Now i dont think i will ever install mandrake. -GGR |
