Linux on an HP N3410 LapTop???

I want to install Linux on my laptop.. it's an HP N3410...

Right nox, I have RedHat 9 installed, but it doesn't quite work the way i would like it to...

First off, I would like the screen to turn back on after I close it and re-open it...

Secondly, I would like to be able to put it into hibernate. Or at least be able to completely power it down, and reboot as quickl;y as possible.

So... Is RedHat good for this? Or should I go with something different??? Any help is VERY welcome...

Redhats as good as anything else, usually bad at laptops but it seems everythings working for you.

My Screen always crashed in redhat when I closed it, Suse fixed that. So maybe you want suse.
And there's currently no way to hibernate, so forget about it.
