Question Linux on an HP N3410 LapTop???

I got this laptop a while ago BEFORE getting into the Linux scene...

So... which version of linux would best go onto MY particular laptop??? I would like it to be able to go to hibernate, and the screen to turn back on when I open it back up. Am I setting my goals too high???

I've searched for many MANY hours... no luck... So please don't tell me to search for it. Thanx...
