linux instalation problem in reht4 on dell inspron 1525


hello sir/mam
i have installed radhat enterprise linux4 successfully on my dell inspron 1525 notebook, but when i did start/reboot the linux i got a fetal error in hardware initialization during linux booting time..
it was 'BAD EIP value'kernel snying.
SATA is installed in my notebook.

plz help me out, wht i do.....

Spell out your words, and write clearly.

Do you mean RedHat Enterprise 4, or RedHat 4?? RedHat 4 is VERY old. RedHat Enterprise is supported by RedHat, so since you're paying for support, calling them would be good. If you're NOT paying for support, then you should load CentOS instead, which is a community-supported (and very nearly identical), version of RHEL.

And you say you successfully loaded Linux...'successfully', except for it not working at all, you mean? What hardware module did it fail on? And be aware that RHEL4 doesn't support SATA drives.
