you're not actually burning the .iso file to the cd, you need to burn an image of the ISO to the CD. I use roxio easy creator 6, but I've heard that Nero also handles this. The cd burner utility that comes with XP cannot handle this. I've never done it under linux
Okay i got it and it booted! But one Problem! it wont let me format it when i click the partion thing it goses back to the main screen also than i try boot using the win 2000 disk and it boots up but it says it cannot find the partion same with the linux cd and thats y i dont think the bootalble partioner will work causes it cannt detect the partion like the linux and the win 2000 cd any idea?
when you click the partition, select the button wipe, it will ask you wether you want to do a thorough wipe or not, then sit and wait for it to wipe the entire harddive, then reinstall windows.
I know when i click partion it brings me back to main menu.... where the setting button is and all see dude i think causes it dosent detect the partion.
just out of curiosity, are you in computer class or something, how do you respond so quickly?
I don't know exactly, try using the recover option and then try wiping it. Or you could download a knoppix cd, and use QtParted on there to try it. Other users of Boot It NG? other ideas from anyone?
oh, I see, honestly I don't know, maybe if you chose the recover thing before you get to partition management (another icon on the "desktop") then try wiping the partition.
I too have recently had this problem, and still have the problem. I have decided after much thought though to forget about windows. And before I hear cries of "cannot be bothered to fix it" it's simply a case of the system will not play ball, even after using Ultimate bootdisk, grub has completely over written the MBR not one single byte of fat filesystem left
And a big thanks for pointing out that threads should be shown rather than mailed, we all get help from this site and it's cheaper and more helpful than any I.T. helpdesk
Keep up the great site.
