Hi there, just got hold of a 10 inch notebook, and wonder what is best Linux for it, I would like to use it when travelling ; doing few searches and sending messages using Skype etc, nothing demading or heavy, as I never have used laptops before I thought to come here and ask for few suggestions from experienced user, I use Debian on my desktop, as well have used few others, be always on desktop, would prefer Debian clones, but as you people would know, Debian is usually not up to date with mobile world. Just a few friendly suggestion would be greatly appreciated! Thanking you in advance!
Well, since Ubuntu is based on Debian and Ubuntu has a special Netbook-Edition, I'd recommend to go for the Ubuntu-Netbook-Edition http://www.ubuntu.com/netbook

Thanks for quick replies! My laptop is no brand variety , I bought it for $150 in China, without operating system, It is a clone of Acer Aspire, with following specifications:
CPU: 1.6-GHz Intel Atom N270
RAM/Expandable to: 2GB
Hard Drive Size/Speed: 250GB/5,400 rpm
Display/Resolution: 10 inches/1024 x 600
Weight: 2.8 pounds
You should be able to run any distro you like with specs like that. For example, Debian's minimum hardware recommendations are 1ghz processor, 512mb ram, 5gb hard drive. (source: wikipedia)
Depending on the specific wireless card, video chipset, etc. you may need to install some "nonfree" drivers as detailed on the Debian Wiki.
If you are used to Debian, it would be the best to just use Debian. Runs fine also on newer laptops (your one doesn't fall into this category) if you use Debian 6/Squeeze.
