Did you read the section titled 5 How to identify a card?
All the information you need can be gleaned from that page,
but wireless in Linux is usually a black art. I am using an
Atheros AR5212 802.11abg Mini-PCI NIC, which uses the
madwifi driver. I've also built wpa_supplicant to encrypt the
transfer of data from the NIC to my router.
First determine your actual chipset, not just the manufacturer
and model name/number.
