Linux and WSXGA resolution on my Presario X1000.

Hi,
I am still having problems with the Presario X1000 display and Linux RH9.
I was finally able to modify the XF86config file and set the resolution I wanted, but what happens is that sometimes the display just gets all white and blury....probably because the horizontal and vertical refresh rates are not the correct ones. I am very worried because this could damage the display. The option I chose was the Generic Laptop Display, so I do not really know what's going on.
I do hope you guys can help me out.
Thanks a lot,
ajpug

My graphic chipset is the ATI Radeon M9000 wich would be the Radeon Mobility 9200. With 64 MB of memory.

Well, it seems your grapchic card is not fully supported by the driver. I had a similar error with a sis630 chipset. Try using the generic svga driver instead of the ati driver supplied with xf86. Or wait patiently until ATI brings out some useable drivers...

Thanks, I will try that.
Is it safe to use the Svga driver?...Could the display get damaged?
