It works fine for me, on Ubuntu, Slackware, and Fedora, so I presume it would work on Redhat as well.

My lspci output:

Code:
02:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 (rev 5f)
Subsystem: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 2x2 AGN
Works out of the box.

Hey TellerUlam,

I am using Ubuntu 10.10 on a Dell mini 1012 with the Intel 6250 chip
My output of lspci is:

Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 (rev 35)

I'm not showing anything in subsystem

I issued: 'dmesg | grep 6250' and it returns: '[ 0.262503] pci 0000:00:1f.0: [Firmware Bug]: TigerPoint LPC.BM_STS cleared
[ 11.026905] iwlagn 0000:07:00.0: Detected Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 AGN, REV=0x84
[ 1867.436250] wlan0: authenticated'

I followed Chili555's suggestion on driver and firmware here

But when I run the wimax commands: 'wimaxcu: command not found'
Do you have any suggestions for an Ubuntu 10.10 user?

I just reinstalled Slackware current, don't know if you're still looking for an answer, but here's how I got it working on Slackware ( 2.6.35.11-smp kernel ).

I downloaded this:

http://intellinuxwireless.org/iwlwif...-9.201.4.1.tgz

Copied the firmware file to my /lib/firmware directory.

Installed NetworkManager and the applets, though you won't have to do this step since it's already installed on most other distros.

Restarted, the system picked up the new firmware and it gave me wlan0, which I was able to use to connect to my router, WPA worked fine.

Use "dmesg | grep .ucode" to see which specific firmware file your distro is trying to load, then download it from http://intellinuxwireless.org/.
