Linpus will not start anymore

Hi all,

I have a huge problem with my Aspire One A150-Ab with linux linpus on. Sometimes when I have ran out of battery it takes long time to start it up, i may think that it reboot the system or something. Im not an computerexpert so please dont go hard on me.

Anyway yesterday it would not start at all, it just came up Error 18. I turned it off and started it again and now it runs for a bit until the blue screen with the aspire logo turns up and then it wont go any further? I have hit the F2 button and turned the default settings on but no luck. I have also tried to take the battery out and run it on cable but no luck.

Any help would be gratefully appriciated, Im in Thailand for holiday for 3 months so really needs it working.

THANKS Carl

I have the same kind of problem. It seems that the file system gets messed up when you suddenly loose power. I had to reinstall using the rescue cd. Now I make sure to do a proper shutdown and I haven't had any trouble. Mine's with the ssd though.

Try press CTRL+ALT+F1 when it gets stuck. You should then get the detailed screen and hopefully some error messages.

If it is the filesystem that gets messed up, you can try to boot from a rescu CD. E.g. this one: http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page

You can then run a repair on it (fsck).
