Unhappy Lenovo Yoga 730 kali Linux adapters get no power

I have a Lenovo yoga 730 and I have bios in legacy I have 64gb usb i use for booting to kali Linux installer along with a usb to Ethernet adapter that I’m not sure is compatible with kali and a tp-link tl wn722n WiFi Adapter I’m doing a sort of dual boot along windows which is on an internal 256gb SSD and booting kali on a 350gb external sata drive.
Whenever I boot to windows and plug in either adapter they have a LED signifying they have power well this is not the case when I boot to the kali Installer usb it doesn’t detect my adapters and no LED’s flash or turn on.
so I skip network hardware detection and skip network mirror and I get this janky install of kali works fine but have rainbow color lines appear randomly but then after I do apt-get dist-upgrade it runs I restart and I get a kali with no icons and everything is blue with white letters this happens even if I get a new iso and reflash. Though in this state and before dist-upgrade command the adapters work but even during install it confuses me how the boot usb gets power and ext drive.

A web search for "tl wn722n WiFi Adapter linux"reveals that this is a common issue. You might try the search and check out some of the articles.

One thing I have found is that many manufacturers of USB wireless and network adapters provide--er--inconsistent support of Linux.
