Lenovo T61 finger print reader

I posted this over at fedoraforums but am getting to traction....
When I had F13 installed, the fingerprint reader on my T61 was working fine - ie: it worked for login about 90% of the time on the first swipe.
I updated to F14, and now it almost never works (maybe 5%). It does work fine for everything once I'm logged in (ie: sudo and such), but the initial login seems to almost always fail. On the rare occasion it does work, it does not unlock my Gnome keyring for my wireless which it used to do in F13.
I tried re-enrolling my finger, but that did not seem to make a difference.
Where would I even find a log file for the initial login program to see why it's failing (assuming an issue with PAM)?
Thanks for any tips or suggestions!

Lenovo W510 fingerprint scanner

I have a Lenovo W510 and have the fingerprint thing .

Win7 no Linux yet ...getting close .

I log into my the Linux and UNIX Sol servers at company so poking around Linux questions is good ( great ?) .

Does it work good ?

Haven't tried it as worried I would lock myself out if it didn't read me under Windoze .

Thinking about putting Linux something on here .

What are you using ?

And what are F13 and F14 except for funtion keys ?

Thx.

The fingerprint reader worked pretty well in Fedora 12 and Fedora 13. Not so well in Fedora 14. I updated the fprintd and libfprint packages from the testing repo, and it work marginally better.

I use Fedora 14 on my laptop and Fedora 12 on my desktop.

F13 and F14 are short for Fedora 13 and Fedora 14.
