Question Lenovo G470 aka LENOVO 20078 (laptop) ; Essential IdeaPad

Hi

Let me open this thread to dedicated to lenovo G470 laptop...

I collected some infos at :
mod note: links removed

But the main issue now is that the fan is always running, do you know a way to monitor its RPM ?

I fear this is caused by a buggy BIOS, how and where to report that ?

Have you installed 'lm-sensors'? Then run 'sensors'.

hi

thank you for replying
mod note: links removed.

But I am facing 2 issues , see later

So now maybe I should try to fix the DSDT table or is this unrelated ?

Bugs :

1/ TZ00 thermal temperature = 0C (even on windows)

2/ there is a fan device only when thinkpad_acpi.ko is forced but it doesnt work and output fixed value :

sensors
acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +0.0°C (crit = +127.0°C)

coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Physical id 0: +44.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 0: +43.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 1: +43.0°C (high = +86.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

thinkpad-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
fan1: 93 RPM

workaround is to rebuild kernel using a custom DsdT table
