LCD backlight control on linux
It seems that backlight control for Compaq F700's series is not supported by now. Thats ok.
But I know for sure that HP G6000 series backlight dimming is supported (searching I found some complains about the dimming being locked very low in ubuntu in a thread made a year ago and some people advised to change some sliders in Gnome Power Managment)
Well.. according to the HP Compaq G6000/F700 service manual, F700 series have the exact same motherboard as HP G6000 series.
But I need to find where to look at the linux sources to make some (I suspect trivial) changes to force the "driver" to be able to work here on my F700. Or, if I could just look HOW they do it on HP G6000 I'll be able to do the same thing with a simple damn little program just to test if it works.
So my question is: does anyone knows where is the backlight control for HP G6000? it is a kernel module? it is embedded on some power management program? AFAIK it is NOT in the latest kernels (as opposed to drivers for Toshiba, Asus, etc)
Thanks =)!
