Read through this carefully, you are 99% sorted:

save the html page incase the forum goes does, the best guide on ACPI yet.

thanks champ!
your link was most helpful. my acpi problems are now "almost" solved. once i figure out why i have to re-insert my battery every time i boot up before it is recognised ill be completely happy...
