Unhappy Laptop that even google knows little of

As of recently hearing how good the new C3-2 Nehemiah processor from via was I foolishly jump at the chance of buying a laptop that PC world were offering. It is called a Patriot 2006 unfortunately a menufacturer that doesnt really exist.

So essentially an epia M1000 laptop. Thanks to the non existant manufacturer I am unable to find a replacement for the six 6 cell li-ion battery that was providing me with a stunning battery life of one hour. It run sort of okay on windows but being a long time linux convert it was soon racing along with gentoo.

The battery life does not greatly bother me as it is on ac most of the time at my college. What does is the FAN it runs at full speed all the time, it did the same in windows UNTIL I got speedfan running on it and THEN and only then would it be nice and quiet. In it's nicer moments it slows for a second and then immediately speeds back up. A true embrassment. The CLE266 castlerock chip doesnt wanna play ball either.

I would really love to hear from someone who has this laptop or who is experienced with these epia systems as this is driving me to distraction.

Please help
