Laptop gets froozen at shutdown
Hello everyone.
A few days ago I installed Linux Mint 8 (distro based in Ubuntu 9.10) to a friend and, later to get awesome with the fact that all works just out-of-the-box (including 3D effects, WiFi and sound), I found a little problem trying to shut down the system: Instead of the Linux Mint usplash it shows a black background with white shapes (I think it is an X error), like when you have a TV in an untuned channel. And the laptop gets frozen there and we have to shutdown it by pressing the on/off button a few seconds. Do you now why this could happen? Thanks a lot for your time. |
Hi Sanva,
This may sound off the wall, but what may help, is an update of the OS or re-install the OS selecting slightly lower resolution setting,, for the display option. I hope this is of help. Jnike |
