kpowersave brightness control deactivated in opensuse 10.2

Hi there,

I've a Asus laptop (model A6JC) with opensuse 10.2. Unfortunately powersave has the LCD brightness control deactivated and I can't automatically adjust the brightness according with the power schema .
If I use a K()Ubuntu live cd I'm able to configure powersave to automatically adjust the brightness. This tell me that it is possible to do it, but that the opensuse hasn't that configuration.
I'm already running the kernel 2.6.22-107 that includes the asus_laptop "driver" but still nothing.
Help would be very appreciated.

It might be that the HAL (hardware abstraction layer) in OpenSUSE is a bit OLD.
