KDE Graphics Help Needed for Laptop

Someone please help me....

I just installed Debian Sarge to my Dell 2500 Laptop. I am using KDE (latest version) but something seems to need tweaking with my KDE video settings.

The KDE panel at the bottom of the screen appears correctly, but when opening
some menus, they extend below the bottom of the screen, blocking any "Cancel", "Apply", "Next", "Done", buttons from view.

I tried resizing the menu to fit but it wouldn't work. I also went into the control center and attempted to set the video to another resolution, but the only option
available was 640x480 with the refresh rate defaulted to 73Hz.

I would like the menus to fit completely on the screen, but most seem to extend off of the screen one way or another.

Thanks for any help lended in advance.

I am sort of a linux newbie, how would I edit this file and which setting should I edit to make the menus flush to the screen.

This is an annoying problem....I am having to guess how many tab clicks it takes to get to whichever button advances a wizard or saves a menu configuration, etc....
