Hello,
i have a very spezial problem, I installt Kali 2017.3 on my macbook air a1369. After installaion free -h tells me that there are only 1,7 GB RAM installed - but there are 8GB RAM inside .... Any ideeas ?
Aside from what hazel (very correctly) pointed out, are you confusing RAM memory with disk space?? Are you dual booting? Because if you have a small partition for Kali (which you shouldn't be using anyway), that could explain it.
You folks seem to forget there is another category of users who need Kali desperately. Wannabe hackers. They must run Kali because it is so cool and makes them l33t, instantly. This category of Kali users is routinely ignored on Kali forums, so they spread all over the internet asking their noob questions.
No I am not confusing RAM with diskspace ..... and I have only Kali installed.
Ok, so back to what we've already told you: DO NOT USE KALI. Again, it is for EXPERIENCED USERS who have a need for a specialized system for network security/pentesting. That is not you.
Again: load Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, openSUSE, or any other 'regular' distro, and things will work just fine.
