kacpid using 90+% cpu when plugging in pcmcia card

I'm having some trouble setting up my new packard bell h5300 laptop with my 3com office connect wireless 11g pc card. The card should work fine with the prism54 driver, however when i insert the card I run into some trouble. I first put in the card before booting, but the bootloader stopped at "checking for new hardware" until i removed the card. I then let the machine boot all the way before I put the card in. The moment I inserted the card my computer slowed down to a crawl, and from top i could see that it was kacpid that was eating up 96-99% of my cpu. I then removed the card and everything went back to normal and kacpid's cpu usage went down to 0. The same thing happens every time I insert the 3com card, but not with other pcmcia cards. Has anyone else had similar problems and found a solution?

/Marcus
