it hangs


Hello!!

Is it normal that my laptop hangs when I close the screen?? I'm using suse linux 8.1

Dude - I think what you're describing is that the laptop goes into standby mode when you close the cover. The reason it does this is to conserve power. Obviously there is no point in wasting battery life to keep the screen lit up if it's in a closed position. This is an intentional (and desirable) design feature. So, if I am understanding your question correctly (please tell me if I'm not), Yes, what you see is normal. -- J.W.

It just stops the computer and you can't use even the mouse. I know what are you talking about, but it's not that.
