isolinux: image checksum error, sorry....

hello, I recently obtained an hp pavillion zt1230 notebook.
I got this notebook for free because "something was wrong with it"
It has no OS installed on it, so im trying to install debian, however i get this message.

Boot CD-ROM type: Non-emulation booting

IOSLINUX 3.31 Debian-2007-02-14 isolinux: Image checksum error, sorry....

Boot failed: press a key to retry....

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Download the .iso again and check it to ensure an error free image before burning to cd/dvd. Also burn the image no faster than 4x to minimize the chances of corruption when burning.

Always verify the integrity of the file after downloading.
From where you download the ISO, there should also be provided the md5 checksum (either as is or as a text file usually called 'md5sum'.).
use md5sum program to calculate the md5sum and compare it to that given on download site.
