Forget about it, pal .
It's also my case.

It CAN'T work because it is a winmodem. Something like a chip with windows code inside, so it can't work at all.
Other winmodems work, but definitly not this one.

Note this is not a linux problem but a hardware design problem.

Just in case yours is different from mine (which I wish for you), check www.linmodems.org

Smile soft modem AMR works fine!

I'm using it now!

go to http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/resources.html
for a start see new section on working AMR winmodems. Use scanmodem tool and compare with PCI devices listed (http://phep2.technion.ac.il/linmodem.../msg04024.html)

The driver I use is (smartlink) slmdm-2.7.10 (not later vers).

This will work on PCI ids and subsystems not yet documented (for example my Acer Travelmate 230) once adjusted slightly...

see my earlier post on ACER Travelmate 230 post no.6
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...=travelmate+30

It is copyright and gives tainted kernel warning unfortunate BUT it works fine
nb. use recent kernels, Mandrake 9.1 stuffs up the IRQs I think
