I have the 2.4.22 compiled (it should include acpi), but when I turn off my laptop it doesn't shut off, I need to do it manually, nothing happens when the lid is closed, I haven't got any of that cpu throtteling, just reads the battery.
Is this normal?
you have to create acpi events and actions under /etc/acpi... and make sure your modules load in /etc/rc.modules.... check out this link... specifically the section on acpi... most should be applicable to any distro or laptop...
but I have found another document, so i got most of it working.
only cpu throttling doesn't work, and that is why I bought this laptop for so any other solutions...
cpufreq is working! but when I look at /proc/acpi/CPU0/performance it still doesn't change to the right state... (but no need for solving that if my processor runs at 600mhz)
But I still have to stop my laptop by holding the power key for 4 seconds, any solution to this?
I had to patch this to unmodified 2.4.22 sources and then apply the cpufreq patch to get it to work but it's worth it... I get 2-3 hrs of battery life now depending on my processor load... though still can't figure out how to get through an entire dvd...
