IR Handheld Hardware Issue/Question

I am attempting to locate ANY other supplier of an IR cable/extender that will allow you to connect the IR ports on a pda to a PC or two PDA's together. So far, the ONLY one I can find is the one made by Pocketop, found here:

http://www.pocketop.net/irextender.htm

This is perfect for what I need and I have purchased one that works really, really well. I do think that $30 is an insane price for it though which is one of the reasons I am looking for another maker. If you look at the thing, I swear it couldn't cost more than a dollar or two to manufacture and I am going to need around 20 of them. I suppose that it is possible that the entire concept is patented and there is no other maker but I would find that hard to believe in these days of cloning EVERYTHING.
So, anyway, if anyone knows of anywhere else to get one of these or something very similar, please let me know. //drum
