I have an HP iPAQ rx3700 series and I was wondering if there is a way to connect it to a linux pc just like you connect an usb flash drive. I have an usb cradle with it.
i installed it by RPM now, but the problem is that I don't know how to start it. I tried typing sync, .. but nothing happens
Can you help me, i'm just a beginner
i did that, i installed everything (also for KDE) but i dont know how to start it. I don't find a command that lauches it or i dont find any shortcut in KDE
You need to disconnect your PocketPC, run synce-serial-start as root and then find a way to run that KDE frontend. It should add an icon onto your panel which is the same as ActiveSync's icon. Then you can right-click on it and browse to your PocketPC.
TranceDude: you seriously need to read the documentation that comes with the project. It is simple, clear and no-nonsence. It will take you through the steps needed to get synce and multisync going, either from the cli or a graphical frontend.
The purpose of this HOWTO is to connect a single Windows CE device with USB support to a PC running a Linux distribution with a 2.6.x kernel, as this is assumed to be the most common setup for SynCE users.
