intelfb malfunction

Hello everyone I am experiencing a serious problem with my Compaq nx6310 laptop with intel i945 graphics card. I am running on Slackware 10.2 with linux 2.6.24 kernel and intelfb enabled and vesafb disabled. I want to use intelfb to get graphics acceleration since I don't want to upgrade my X server. The problem is that during the booting process intelfb quits with the following error: LVDS port found mode changing not supported, please set mode at boot time.
