Hi,
These are my fist steps with linux, so I hope someone can help me here. My englisch isnīt the best, but I hope youīll understand...
I try to get my Laptop (Compaq 1700) working with Suse 8.2. Installation wasnīt that hard, but I canīt get my Wlan Card working. Itīs a Intel Pro/Wireless 2011 B and when I insert it it gives me a beep and a bonk (so Iīd say it isnīt recognised by the driver) and the LED isnīt blinking. Before Linux I used WinXP and the card worked fine, so the card itself should be ok.
Theres also a "normal" network-adpter in the machine which works fine.
cardctl ident gives me:
Socket 0:
product info: "Intel", "PRO/Wireless LAN PC Card", "1.00"
manfid: 0x0089, 0x0001
function: 6 (network)
var/log/messages gives me
linuc kernel:eth1: failed to initialize firmware (err = -110)
linuc kernel
rinoco_cs: register_netdev() failed
linuc kernel
rinoco_lock() called with hw_unavailable (dev=c72ab000)
linux cardmgr[1970]: get dev info on socket 0 failed: Resource temporarily unavailable
what am I doing wrong? Would it help to change to Suse 9.0 or some other distribution?
Thanks in advance,
Peter
