Ive got my sound working great with alsa drivers thru my laptops speakers. But when I connect speakers or headphones to the headphone slot, no sound comes out. I think it has to do with the sound services I have running. Maybe I dont have that one running, I mean. Here's that section of my modules.conf
alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0
alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss
The same setup works fine when I boot to XP. Also, at this site under the module options, how do I use them?
First question.. does sound stop comming from the speakers when you plug in the headphones?.. and second question.. Are you "SURE" your plugging them into a headphone slot.. since most laptops have Headphone.. audio in.. digital in.. mic in.. video out.. audio out.. and sometimes more... If you are plugging it in right, then you probably broke your headphone slot since they are hardwired and normally NOT a seperate volume control...
Yes, I know that The headphone slot still works, because I listen w/speakers in windows all the time. There are only 2 slots, one for headphones (which the speakers are plugged into), and one for a mic (which nothing is plugged into)
Alrighty then. You should try the command.. alsamixer... in a terminal window, if you have alsamixer you can set the volumes for almost anything.. maybe it'll find your headphones under one of the aux headings?
