Intel Core DUO processor Vs AMD
 

Hello all, this is kind of poll and general opinion post about the next-gen processors in market.
Well Intel has released Centrino core duo 32bit processors with 78% more performance and 28% less power.But it gives an awesome performance. On the other hand is AMD fighting to gain Intel's market. AMD has also released dual core processors i guess. AMD Athlon XP2 2000+ 64bit processors. It also has a great performance. Both still have some issues with overclockking... but still its a neck to neck fight.
So people what are your opinions about these processors, please write on and have an informative discussion...

In my opinion this is an discussion that'll never end, because both companies will allways come with something new. Like this. Intel now has core duo.. yes performace and it outperforms AMD on certain benchmarks, now AMD is comming with Socket AM2 for desktops .. S1 for laptops .. and F for servers. There is no real new thing about this except for the fact that'll have support for DDR2 memory. That's pretty much it.. so it would seem like Intel is on lead right now.. But what happens end of next year, check amd's roadmap. By the end of 2007 their new processor line comes out.. K8L. Featuring: Hypertransport 3.0 and DDR3 memory. I haven't checked INTEL's roadmap yet, but for as far as i know they are now mainly focussing on going for 45nm processors. And they can do it faster then AMD because they got the factory's to do it. I forgot to mention that as core duo might be a bit faster AMD can still handle the new intel line with their current K8 line because of integrated memory controllers and hypertransport links. I think there'll never be a winner.

In short our demand is being made faster with more companies competiton.
More competiton == better quality processors!
