intel boot not working

I have two laptops.

A Toshiba Satelitte A105-S4054
A Toshiba Portege 7000CT

Backtrack 2 boots on the Portege, which is odd because backtrack is rather new and the portege is 7 years old. The toshiba satelitte comes up, and says

Inintailizng intel boot agent
Media check failed
Exiting boot agent

Then it boots windows xp.

I dont understand why, if it works on an older toshiba, then why wouldnt it be able to boot on a newer one? I am trying to run backtrack live.

So, any help would be apperciated.

Note: Portege has no Operating System

Most burning applications try to burn at maximum speed, resulting in a poor burn job that can be read with slower drives but not so well with faster drives, it is best to use around half the speed your software recommends. You do have the bios set to boot from the optical drive before hard drive?.
