Installing ubuntu 10.10 by usb : Unknown keyword in conf file

I wish to install Ubuntu 10.10 Notebook Edition on my Dell Vostro 1510. I downloaded the iso file and also verified the md5 sum. I followed the instructions given on the Ubuntu download page for creating a USB bootable drive via Startup Disk Creator. There was no error in the process, but when I restated the computer with the pen drive, it said :

and then hanged. What's the problem ?

(I was reinstalling it because my laptop often hangs at the login screen of both Fedora 13 and Ubuntu 9.10 . I have 2 OSs)
