Installing to ThinkPad 755CD

Hi, I'm trying to install Linux (slackware) on my ThinkPad... I'm having trouble once I get it booted from floppies.. I swap in the cdrom, and try to select media source... but the install can't find my cd drive.

Has anyone had luck installing slack on an IBM 755CD?

Is there a distro. that should be more compatible?

BTW, I've tried booting from bareacpi.i and ibmmca.s (bootdisks).

Thanks for any help/input. I use unix/mac os x all the time, and Linux in live cd form, but I'm an install newbie.
