currently, i have 2 laptops. 1 runs SUSE Linux 11.2 and a macbook air.
if possible I would like to install suse linux on the macbook air so that i do not have to use two laptops. Is it possible to install suse linux on the macbook ? i have the parallels virtualization software and bootcamp on the macbook.

What happens when you try to run a live cd?

is the mac from the intel series ?
if it is , i guess it should work .

It is an intel Mac (the powerpc ones had their names start in "i" for consumer and "Power" for high-end, and end in "Mac" for desktops and "Book" for laptops. now the naming is "Mac Pro" for the high-end desktop, "iMac" for consumer desktop and "MacBook" for laptops. Laptop names can end in "Pro" for high-end, "Air" for "netbook-like" and no ending for consumer).
Also to install Linux you'll need rEFIt (bootcamp is a Windoze-only bootloader, but it can be used to do the partition resizing though).
Note that you need rEFIt only to do the actual installation, loading the LiveCD itself doesn't need rEFIt.

Not true, you can install Linux using Bootcamp it will just be listed as Windows when choosing from the boot menu. As long as that doesn't bother you it runs fine. I have Ubuntu running on a Mac Air without installing rEFIt.
