Installing stretch on a dell xps 13

I have a Dell XPS 13 that previously had Jessie on it. When I tried to upgrade it to Stretch the upgrade not only failed, it was left in an unrecoverable state. Since all my personal work was also stored on my desktop I was not worried. I downloaded debian-live-9.2.0-amd64-gnome+nonfree.iso and installed it. I had assumed that the wifi adapter, a Broadcom Limited BCM4352, an 802.11ac wireless adapter would be recognized, but it was not. Can someone suggest what I have missed, and if I need to get additional proprietary firmware, where can I download it.

Thank you.

Hi:

Most likely you need to install the driver for your bcm4352 card and the non-free firmware.

https://wiki.debian.org/wl

https://mudongliang.github.io/2016/0...r-bcm4352.html

https://wiki.debian.org/Firmware

Non-free firmware
https://packages.debian.org/stretch/...-linux-nonfree

Once you install the driver and the firmware and than restart your Debian machine your wifi should work.

Thank you very much. I had assumed that by choosing the iso with the non free software, that firmware would be included. I'll download it post haste.

I have a BCM4352 chip in my ASUS desktop. You'll also need to perform the following:

(1) Install dkms, if not already installed.
(2) Install broadcom-sta-dkms.
