Question Installing Red Hat 9 on Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600

Hi,
I am trying to install RH on my laptop, unfortunately I find that my dvd drive is unable to recognize the bootable install cd.
I tried booting with the floppy. It is unable to read the install CD in the drive.
I made a driver diskette (pcmciadd.img) and tried the linux dd install procedure. No luck there either.
I would really appreciate any help. I need to start on my project and this whole installation thing has put me in a mess.
Thanks,
Dilip

Niiiice,

Did you burn the cd yourself? or did you purchase it?

If your burnt it yourself, can you verify the cd on another machine?

(sorry but i have to ask this) have you set the boot order to boot from cd? (i know you probably have)

The boot order is fdd->cdrom->lan->hdd.
I am using the cds that i burned. And yes, it works on other desktop machines and my other dell laptop.
