Question Installing a Linux distro alongside Mac OS X!

Hi all,

I have an iBook G4 and would like to dual-boot Mac OS X and a Linux distro. Is it possible? If "Yes!" then how do I proceed. Mac OS X first, then Linux?

I am thinking of installing Distro Astro, (I think the version I have installed on a Toshiba laptop (alongside MS-Windows & Mint) is an 'i386' image. Does this complicate things or should I be looking for a PPC linux distro?

I really don't know much about Macs
I have booted Debian live dvd to image failing hdd

Mac hardware tends to be 'inferior' (considering the price)
But , from what I understand it is possible to dual boot

Best I can offer,

https://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/

Debian .. but it was first 'hit' from web search "ibook linux"

Personally i'd look at cheap pc, cosmetics aside macs are on the 'crap side'

You need a PowerPC distro changing you OS doesn't change your processor architecture. If you're looking for flash and all that you still not going to get it in Linux.

d'oh, i missed the PowerPC part and that would be correct, you need a PowerPC distribution such as YellowDog, and although there is no flash there is the VLC plugin/greasemonkey+vlctube which should at least give you Youtube videos, not sure if there is an open source flash plugin for PPC or not, but definately not an official PPC linux flash plugin.
