Install Linux on an HP 7258 to allow WinXP Linux Dual Boot

Hello all. First a quick Thank You to any information source! I've got an HP 7258 and use VMWare to run Linux distros but want to do this the right way. Partition the drive, install Linux and choose which OS (Windows XP or Linux) to boot. I like Kubuntu and use it a lot in VMWare. If someone could provide a link to a "How To" I would be very appreciative. I've done this before but want to make sure that I don't hose everything up. Linux after Windows, right. Use the native boot prog (Grub) in the Linux distro? I'm sure that this info is on the site somewhere but I can't find it. My own stupidity

Thanks again.

I did a WinXP / Ubuntu dual boot and it was pretty straightforward. Windows first. Then Ubuntu. There was only one spot where there was some confusion on my part and that was during the re-sizing of the partitions. I meant to give Windows 30 GiB and Ubuntu 10 GiB and I ended up doing the reverse. Oops.

Thanks for the info. I was pretty sure I hadn't forgotten how to install Linux after windows but will make sure that I don't reverse the HD /OS space. Thanks again.
