install debian squeeze from a usb
 
hi guys ,
i am trying to install debian on my netbook.i made the usb bootable with unetbootin and after the boot when trying to detect cd-rom it fails..
what i can do?i thought to mount the usb drive on my own but i cannot do it as i have no idea which one directory is in /dev.

i would appreciate if you could help me.

Hello ring0, welcome to LQ,

are there any other options than to install the packages from a CD/DVD drive?

Or did I misunderstand your question and your system stops while booting because it didn't find a CD-device?

You need to explain a bit more. Did you take a live cd version of debian or what exact version.

At what point does this usb install fail? Do you mean at some point in the installation process it asks for a cd as source or way before the installation program.

guys,
i used a different a usb stick and this time the debian installer detected it,so i installed debian and everything works well.
