inspiron 8000 screen problems with Zenwalk

Hi all:

Thanks for any help anyone here can give me. I'm running a Dell Inspiron 8000 with an ATI Rage Mobility M4 32MB card, installed Zenwalk 2.2 and it performs wonderfully except: I can either have the whole screen being used with a smudgy oversized display, or have a sharp high resolution display that only fills 3/4 of the screen.

I can toggle between them with Fn + F7.

Driver being used in my xorg.conf file is the "recommended" by Zenwalk's "videoconfig" utility ATI driver.

Check out http://www.mikeoliveri.com/utils/dellslack.html for sound solution for onboard chip and solution for desktop/X11 problem. May help with Zenwalk too. Good luck.
